Focus group questionnaire and analysis
Focus group questionnaire analysis
I have now analysed the answers from my focus group questionnaire so that i can use the information to create a product that my target market will want to buy.

4) The Majority of my target market said that they thought the main image should be the most important part of a magazine front cover however one person said that the title was the most important and so I will have to take this into account when creating my front cover.
5) Everyone that filled out my focus group questionnaire said that the most important part of the contents page was the page index and so I will have to make this very clear.
6) The majority of my target market said that the most important part of a double page spread is the image and interview and so I will have to make sure this stands out so that it will appeal to my target market.
I will use this information throughout the rest of this project to create a product that suits my target market well and would sell well.

Questionnaire analysis
1)
The first question I asked was are you male or female? The result was 6 males and 9 females. As a result my answers will be more female based.
2)
The second question I asked was how old are you ? The majority of people who answered my questionnaire were between 15-17 and so the rest of the answers are likely to be on younger music however there are some older and younger people carrying out this questionnaire. No one between the age of 21-25 has answered my questionnaire.
3)
The third question I asked was what music do you listen to? The highest scoring genre was Indie/alternative however R’n’B and pop followed closely behind and so I will have to consider all three of these genres for my magazine.
4)
The fourth question I asked was do u regularly buy music magazines? Over fifty percent of the people I asked did not buy music magazines regularly and so will have a fresh outlook for the rest of the questionnaire.
5)
The fifth question I asked was do you keep up to date with music? 12 out of 15 people said yes meaning that they will know quite a lot about artists and magazines which will give me better answers for the rest of the questionnaire.
6)
The sixth question i asked was how much would you spend on a music magazine? The majority of people said they would pay between £1-£3 and no one said they would pay more than £5.
7)
The seventh question i asked was what would you expect to see on your favourite magazine? i allowed the audience to tick as many as they wanted as they may have wanted more than one answer. All of the answers where chosen however concert information and interveiws were the most popular.
8)The eighth question i asked was where do you buy your magazines? mostpeople said that they bought their magazines at either a supermarket or corner shop showing that most people wont go far to get it.
9)
The ninth question i asked was do you prefer bands or single artists? The majority of people said they prefered single artists showing that this is what they would like to see in the magazine.
10)
The tenth question I asked was would you prefer to see up and coming artists or well known artists? The majority of people said they would prefer well known artists. This shows that more people look at magazines that they are familiar with.
11)
The eleventh question I asked was do you buy magazines based on appearance, freebies, information or other? I allowed the people who took my questionnaire to tick as many answers as they wanted as they may want more than one. The highest scoring part was the appearance and information showing that these are the most important parts of the magazine for my audience.
12)The twelfth question i asked was who is your favourite group or artist? i got a range of answers for this question from rock bands to pop bands however most people chose single pop artists such as Britney Spears, Robbie Williams and Michael Jackson.
